Dailytwitter

What’s your idea?

december idea twitter

It is called ‘dailytwitter’ – named as such because it is a daily newspaper created from the conversations of individuals who are part the the Twitter community.

It is a citizen journalism initiative designed to bring together journalists from various communities to create their own ‘dailytwitters’ aggregating tweets various twitter sources on a local and global level.

The concept centres around two key streams:

1) building a network of local ‘dailytwitters’ driven and owned by citizen journalist to provide local news and drawn from the twitter streams, for example a london.dailytwitter.com containing news, gossip, events, sport, entertainment, food, health, music, gigs etc

2) to provide a twitter users with a means to build their own personal ‘dailytwitter’ based on the people they follow for example, building a page of adamfamily.dailytwitter.com – permitting a single individual to see at a glance all his family on his dailytwitter page

The projects vision is to bring together individuals who are able to create their own ‘dailytwitters’ for use either as a community newspaper for local towns/cities for projects on a educational, governmental, journalistic or maybe commercial basis.

What inspired you to come up with your idea in the first place?

My idea came from using twitter and realising the volume of content and tweets from twitter was enough to create individual newspapers or editorially driven pages to benefit communities on a local or global level.

From 1-5, what stage of development would you say your idea was in?

I think I am at a state of 2 to 3 – with a blog, ideas, visuals but zero development and funding.

What can we do for you?

I am seeking help to get the idea of the ground with a mentor, funding and development ideally – pending the idea being accepted as a good one.

This idea was submitted by Andrew Gregson.
